Echoes of You
my first Fringe experience and I am so glad I got to see Echoes Of You at their the last show! I cried twice and wanted more in the end. Thank you for sharing such intimate experience. The presentation through dance and movement is beyond perfect.
Echoes of You was INTENSE from start to finish!! The choreography was dramatic and difficult. These seven dancers left absolutely everything on the stage💗🤯😭 Highly recommend and already have my tickets for Fridays show!!!
I felt a collective sense of awe at the stamina of the performers from the audience at the end. And Tyler Horvath is a stand-out. I hope he spends most of his career in Toronto cause he's one to follow.
I echo (had to slide that in) an earlier comment about a lack of plot. It would have helped to have a small set piece (a hat, a scarf) that changed hands and became a through line. Because I definitely didn't know why it was called Echoes of You by the end. There were good partner scenes, some one vs the many which made things interesting. Some more space would have helped - they kept the mid curtain closed but it meant the dancers had to be very careful where they placed their legs.
This dance production was phenomenal- I’m going back a second time with friends. Creative, athletic, connective and powerful! The lifts, throws, jumps and intricate choreography keep me on the edge of my seat. The raw humanity within the storytelling moved me deeply. At times I was misty-eyed as the dancers portrayed an aspect of human relating in a way that really captured the complexity of being human. I look forward to being immersed in it again.
Such an incredible show, it was so physical and acrobatic, while also charged with emotion. An intense and cathartic 55 minutes, this one is a must-see!
It was a whirlwind 55 minutes where I could fully enjoy the tough physical abilities and perfectly synchronized movements of all the dancers. Although there wasn't a particular story, I was able to understand it better after reading the explanation after the performance. Pay attention to the dancers' expressions as well. I got goosebumps several times. I think anyone who has had even a little involvement with dance will definitely enjoy it.
The performance I attended did receive a standing ovation, so bear that in mind as you read my review.
I wanted to like this, but it didn’t do anything for me. A major part of the problem was the sound, which was inconsistent in quality and did little to enhance the visual spectacle. (I found it often worked against it.) I admire the strength and coordinated movement of the dancers, but there was no discernible story, and the chemistry among the performers was decidedly lacking—even though everyone was obviously committed and giving their all.
People who know dance firsthand will likely love this show. Non-dancers like me may take a bit more convincing.
There are only 3 dance shows in Fringe! Support more dance!!! Full review linked
This performance grabs your attention right from the start and doesn’t let go.
