hilarious, fun improv whodunnit with prompts given from the audience. insanely talented actors. an amazing evening show and i hope to return!!
while the script could probably benefit from a little revise, Horsing and Clowning Around delivers a very important message in the form of a fun after-school-special-esque children’s show. a fun watch for horses and clowns.
while i applaud the effort that went into this show (as it does all the fringe shows), this one didn’t do it for me. the characters did not feel fully developed as they could have been; the set/costume changes took a large chunk out of the runtime, leaving us in the dark for around 2 minutes each time. i also felt the ending was incredibly abrupt, and not in an inventive way. i enjoy the idea of this story, but i wish the execution could have been more polished.
12 Angry Puppets introduces the audience to a wide array of puppet jurors, all encompassing their own appearances and distinct personalities. the kicker? Adam Francis Proulx uses one puppet body and creates the characters on stage. we are swept from our seats into a comedic yet thought-provoking play that shows us the hilarious-yet difficult to manage-world of law and public vote.
a satirical yet brutally honest look into the performing arts industry and what it takes to make it. while not a perfect production, definitely a funny and interesting cabaret that is sure to be loved by all who ever wanted to be on the big stage.
this show goes from a comedic satire on modern day religion into a dramatic examination on our own morality and how we choose to apply it in our interactions with others. this show does not hesitate to put our characters in difficult situations; a teenage pregnancy, a degenerate uncle, a mourning son. we are subjected to the headspace’s of all of our characters whilst these events are in place. Jesus, Mary, and Jo dosen’t just make us feel sympathy for them; it forces us to see ourselves and reevaluate our own moral code, and how we change it when it’s more comfortable.
phenomenal!! i didn’t really know what to expect going into it but this is a display of insane talent and a must see this fringe year!!
an engaging “bury-your-gays” play except instead of a lesbian dying she’s just in a coma. started off a little rough but fell into itself quickly and gave the audience a really beautiful, heartbreaking story of love and rising above those who despise it.
