An hour spent with God is always a good one, when she is a Scottish drag queen that is. As always Mike and Chantelle have brought a stellar show to Edmonton. Having the audience laughing at AI, menopause, and the state of Alberta - and leaving feeling hopeful - is something that I think only this God can do. You’ve done it again God! Thanks for gracing Alberta with your holiness even when we have such a high presence of hate, racism, homophobia, transphobia…. Separatists…. There are still good, ethical people here who need your message!
Wish I'd known, way back in my church years, how to hear God's voice: At Edmonton Fringe, and wearing my great auntie's floral twinset, no less! 💛 Scottish drag queen, preaching God's love everywhere. Seriously y'all, please come back next year. And every year! Abracadabra, you ARE BEAUTIFUL!
This was my third time having the honour to listen to God, and as usual, I was in stitches the entire show. There were some off the cuff remarks, which were just as hilarious as the planned bits - which threw shade at everything from... well, I won't spoil what God was ranting about in relation to the dumpster fire that 2026 was, is, and continues to be.
Easily my favourite Fringe tradition, I eagerly await next year's installment!
Returning to the Edmonton Fringe Festival for their fifteenth year, Mike and Chantelle Delamont bring God to life in all her floral patterned glory. This stand up comedy spectacular is a Fringe staple for many people, as well it should be. It’s an act that cements itself in the viewer's brain, as God expresses her opinions on misinterpretations of the Bible, AI, politics, and any number of other relevant topics. Always, God’s acts are grounded in a desire to uplift the audience. You leave the theatre feeling happier than before, and often feeling better about yourself as well. One could say it’s a divine miracle - God unburdens you on the holy grounds of the Metro Cinema. Mike Delamont brings God to life with all the vigour of a true Scotsman, and Delamont does a remarkable job of making it easy to understand the Braveheart-esque accent. God is a Scottish Drag Queen is a real Edmonton Fringe classic, and it will undoubtedly leave you wanting more. Catch it while you can! God sells out a house fast.

The show this year felt like the antidote to the dumpster fire that has been 2026.
I'm a teacher, and some of the jokes about the current generation of kids had tears streaming down my face, and my stomach hurt with how hard I was laughing. God went off script a bit, but I didn't mind. The off the cuff jokes were some of the funniest of the night.
The heartfelt moments felt earned, as they always do, and left me with something to carry with me.
The themes of my Fringe 2026 have seemed to be magic, historical queer people, and hilarious jokes about things that have no business being funny, and God is a Scottish Drag Queen somehow managed to hit all three this year.
