This show was not what I expected—it was so much more. First, Steven has a beautiful voice and just such charm as a performer. You can’t help but like him, and his performance is very polished and professional. Second, the story is a thoughtful presentation of what drag can mean to someone. Of all the shows I’ve seen so far, this is the one I can most see becoming a bigger production beyond the Fringe circuit.

I really encourage folks to go see this show. Shy is very funny and brings a different perspective. I saw her show in the late afternoon on a weekday with a small audience, and it’s sure hard to do stand-up in that setting—you really need a critical mass of people to get the laughter rolling. BUT she still had the audience giggling throughout.

I agree with the other reviewers that the script could have used some tightening/more of a plot arc, but I could have watched Colum be Colum without any script! Sarah is a talented actor/clown, and her physicality and movement was spot-on and so fun to watch.

This show started like a regular stand-up show with material on typical subjects, like dating—done very well, but normal. THEN there is tap-dancing! Guitar-playing! Wigs! Character work! All while Candy shares the often difficult story of her life. This show is what Fringe is about, to me: addressing serious issues with comedy and creativity. There wasn’t a boring minute in the show, and I absolutely loved it.

Adam Francis Proulx must have some kind of magic powers to make this one puppet come to life as 12 separate characters all while the audience can see him right there as the puppeteer. I really felt like the words were coming from the puppet!! The show has a point, and a good one, without being cheesy. But you’re there for the characters and the witty script.

Fifth show of the day for me and hands-down the funniest and most clever. This was my first Shirley Gnome show, and I can see why she is a perennial Fringe favorite. Her incredible voice somehow made the silly lyrics even funnier. Would 100% see this again.

I wasn’t really sure what form this show would take and didn’t really know what to expect (the beauty of Fringe!). The host is a presenter on a late-night show on the public broadcasting channel, and he’s fighting his producer over ads for big corporate sponsors. In between the host’s segments, there are two other performers, a musician and a comedian. I’m not sure the different performances were all that cohesive, but I enjoyed them all individually, and the last host segments with Little Toks are HILARIOUS. Don’t leave until you’ve watched all the credits.

Absolutely unhinged. Two hilarious and fully formed characters (sort of in one?). This went places I never could have imagined, and the whole room was laughing. Sit toward the middle/front if you can; the stage is barely raised, so it’s hard to see some parts from the sides/back.
